Research

For research, I am interested in investigating how emerging technologies change our decision making process in the course of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of commercial buildings, heavy civil structures, and process plants. I have been working on various funded research projects in the area of Design Automation, Building Information Modeling, and Unmanned Aerial System. In 2011, I developed the BIM CAVE, which is Computer Aided Virtual Environment for BIM, with my graduate students to enhanced our experience in reviewing a Building Information Model in an immersive environment. RUCIC (Research Unit for Computer Integrated Construction)

RUCIC is one of the research units in the College of Architecture. Investigation of emerging computer technologies for improving construction practices especially on job sites is among many objectives. Graduate students majoring construction management or architectural computing at the Department of Construction Science or the Department of Architecture are major driving forces of the research activities in the RUCIC.
